现在看来,DJI在美国 Remove Electric Fence 是一个多么明智的决定, DJI will still have a market in the continental United States, for the legacy platforms such as Mavic 3, Matrice 3, and Inspire 3, for consumer and business use。因为開放低空空域的重点一直都是需要规定哪里不让飞,而不是规定哪里让飞。This is common sense for general aviation.

No one can innovate if there’s too much cost for regulation and making it work for the industry perfectly, without actually consulting any of the experts like me involved in this general aviation industry regulatory process and the future market position and projection. Which means, that’s often just meant to fail. The legislators don’t know jack about how general aviation should work. You can’t just regulate the UAS and Cessnas, like a jetliner with 100+ souls on board.

熱知識:General Aviation 在美國是一個非常普遍的事情,本質上學完單引擎,雙引擎的空中駕校,就可以買飛機來開,而 Cessna 本質上是一個非常Reasonably Priced 小型通航航空器, 且除了Cessna以外美国还有好几家生产通用航空器的企业。美國有著世界上最多的Civil Aviation Pilots, 也有著全世界最大的 Civil Aviation fleet, 還有著世界上最強的航空及工程師文化。全美兩萬多個機場,Atlanta Airport 是世界上最繁忙的機場,也是全美的Aviation/Cargo Hub.

Deregulation is the only solution and the step should be taking to protect the aviation industry. But apparently no one cares about civil aviation and general aviation industry, make everything about having a high bar to even enter the market for products that don’t know will be made a profit or not. This is a toxic culture, and the only kind of business that could be making profit from it are those companies that pours absolutely no money into R&D, just plagiarizing everything.

通用航空从来都不是一个Zero-Sum game,it’s an industry involving new infrastructure, automation, and new population technology and fully integrated systems. 没有任何一个企业能吃得下全部的份额,就连现在的 Domestic & Intercontinental Jet powered Airliner 还有着Boeing, Airbus, 以及 Embraer. 公務機行業更是有 Dassault, Bombardier, Honda, Cessna, Golfstream etc.

UAS 也是一樣,你在一個行業成功不代表你能在另一個行業成功。UAS 是一個非常巨大且非常Technology Focused Industry. 需要一个全能型的人才和团队,才能Turn a profit. DJI 是一个仅仅在低载重,多旋翼,全电推进技术的高占有率的且可替代性极强的企业。真的工业/商用无人机和实用性的UAS/UAV system 美国依然是领先世界几个身位的存在。
